Mike Scovel began his New York Life career at the age of 22 in the Central California General Office. As an agent he always had a high case rate and qualified for Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) in 1995. MDRT is the Premier Association of Financial Professionals, and is recognized globally as the standard of excellence for life insurance sales performance in the insurance and financial services industry. In 1996, at the age of 24, Mike was promoted to partner.
Mike’s passion for management was apparent in his desire to help agents interested in management to move in that direction. Over his three years as a sales manager, Mike helped promote five new agents to the role of sales manager.
He himself was promoted to managing partner of the Stockton General Office in 1999. It was one of the fastest-growing offices in the company – rising from the 90th largest office to the 23rd in just five years.
Mike moved to the Illinois General Office on Oct. 1, 2005 and in 2009, Mike was promoted to senior vice president of the West Central Zone.
His most recent move has placed him in the role of the Dallas Fort Worth General Office managing partner. The Dallas Fort Worth Office is considered one of the most significant offices in the country with a history of success and a market that is insatiable. The DFW Office earned the Chairman’s Trophy in 2016 and 2021 which is awarded to the General Office with the best total sales performance as well as growth in key areas of sales, agent growth and retention.
He is married to Patti, and they have 4 beautiful children: Alexa, Tanner, Braedon and Bella. Mike and Patti have also welcomed their first grandchildren: Carson and Nathan. Mike graduated from California State University Fresno with a degree in marketing and received a master’s degree in management from the American College.
